So-long, Farewell, Something Heidi Klum would say, Adieu...

Unfortunately, this blog is going to cease to exist. And I was almost to the 1 Year mark! Sigh...If you would still love to keep up with me and baby then you should check out http://www.sharisahutchins.blogspot.com/. I will be continuing my blogging there from now on. :)

And I thought sewing was for old ladies...

So this sewing class that I have been so excited about...was actually really awesome. I showed up and I was the first one there. (I know! Me? Early?!) And I get my sewing machine set up the best I know how (aka-I plugged it in) And I'm thinking, where are all the other women who must be signed up for this class? Luckily, within a few minutes 2 women showed up with brand new sewing machines in hand. Phew, they look like they have no idea what they are doing either. Well, I was right... they had no idea what they were doing. But the threee little girls that followed them in did. These girls were like 9 and 10 years old and they come in and set up their machines and they totally know everything! The teacher was asking basic questions that I had no idea about and they knew everything. So while the teacher is teaching me how to thread my machine correctly, these girls are over there figuring out how to make button holes (like the big cute rings that you see on shower curtains) and ruffles. I felt like the biggest idiot, but it was more funny than sad. And then to top it all off, I had my mom's sewing machine. Which the teacher actually said was a really good machine, and it was easy to use, so I have nothing against it. But It is really old looking. I mean, it's a lovely early 7o's brown and gold and I don't think that it has ever been cleaned or really taken care of. (Let's face it, us Shiflet girls only pull it out when something really needs to be mended..so, once a year...maybe) So as I'm working on learning to sew a straight line, the littlest girl comes over and says "Oh my gosh, I love your machine." And I was like "Thanks, it's pretty old but it works." And she says "Yeah I just love vintage stuff." I couldn't help but laugh. It was too funny. Overall, I learned a lot in just 2 hours and the teacher was super sweet. And now I feel confident that I can learn how to make anything I want to. Yeah!

Update...

I haven't had much to blog about lately. My life is just rollin' along. Sleep in here, throw-up there...all good times. I had my doctors appointment the other day. I am 29 weeks and I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel! My doctor said that I am real dehydrated though and I need to be drinking a gallon of water a day. I don't think that I could even attempt that! But I have been doing better and getting down a few water bottles a day without throwing them up. Sorry...graphic. I am going to be coaching volleyball at Gilbert High School this season. Our tryouts start tomorrow and the season will end the first week in November, right when the baby is due so it's perfect timing. I'm going to be helping out with the freshman team. And I am also still taking that sewing class at Blissful Living Studios starting on Tuesday...there is still time to sign up and come with me!! Brock is finishing his last camp this week! Next week he will begin coaching the varsity volleyball team at Highland High School for this season. Yes, the rivalry has already been brewing for weeks :) haha. Brock is probably going to be coaching boys club at nights too. He is going to start some classes at Chandler-Gilbert for the fall semester also. We will be busy until this little guy gets here!
