Brock and I finally broke down and got the Internet! After three long and treacherous months without it, we finally decided to cough up the $25.00 a month in order to stay connected to life back on the "mainland" (that's what they call "North America" here). The Internet is a total necessity and I have no idea how we even held out that long...
Anyway, Brock and I have been here in "beautiful" Hawaii since August. We are living in a studio in downtown Honolulu that's only about 2 miles away from the beach. The weather here is so unpredictable but awesome (once your skin gets used to it). It rains out of nowhere, even when there are no clouds (and seemingly only on the days when my hair looks real good), but it is never hot! Which is such an awesome change from Arizona.
Brock has kept very busy catching himself up in school. He's taking 19 credits this semester on top of 3-a-day practices for the University of Hawaii Men's Volleyball team. We're hoping that he will be able to apply to a business school after this year (c'mon UCSD!). Their season starts in January and hopefully he'll be a starter on the team this coming season. Brock is also the Sunday School President in our ward, (really, it just sounds like an important calling). He's been working so hard and I am very proud of him. :) I was lucky enough to get into a great salon in Kahala. I'm an assistant at the Marsha Nadalin Salon & Spa and will hopefully soon become a stylist there. I am also working at Banana Republic on the side. I am also the Young Women's Secretary in our ward so I get to do a lot of fun things with all the girls in the ward.
Things are so different here in Hawaii. The people live just a totally different lifestyle, church is weird, everywhere you go smells like fish, there is nowhere to shop and the food selection is less than stellar (hello? I thought there were Paradise Bakery's and Sonic's everywhere! Someone send me a cherry-limeade!). I really truly think that the beach is what keeps people here! I know it's not the $6 gallons of milk, so I'll bet on the ocean. Moving here was really a huge decision for us to make. Brock was packed and ready from the moment the thought entered our minds, but I have had a really hard time with it. It's not easy being away from friends and family and "normal life", but I know that the Lord has been blessing us and helping us out. Fortunately, we are adjusting, and getting used to the lifestyle. It's always good to branch out and expand your horizons right? We're going for the Rockstar hair...
To cut to the chase, the reason Brock and I decided to start this blog was so that we can be in contact and stay connected to everyone we know through something other than MySpace. We have come to the realization that in the almost 2 years that we have been married we have lost contact with so many friends and it would be so nice to re-connect and see what's going on in all your lives! Plus, now that you've been updated on where we live, it will give you some motivation to come and visit us...we'll let you sleep on our couch okay :)
P.S.- I promise that our blog will get more interesting with pictures and music and fun stuff in the future. Just gimme some time while I'm learning how to do this whole blog thing! I'm not Erica yet!!!

Okay, Richard puts all the bells and whistles on our blog, I just put up pictures and words. You'll have to get him to give you the pointers. I'm so glad you guys made one though! I miss you! Isn't it funny how a place can seem so great when you vacation there, but living there is a whole different story? I'm sad no one is coming home for Thanksgiving or Christmas. It will be just us and Ty...hooray. We are coming for a wedding on leap year day- Feb. 29. Hopefully you're still there. Love you! And at least you don't live in Buffalo. We don't have Sonic or Paradise either- just pizza and wings. :(
I will be there then! I asked for two weeks off at work thinking I would ask big so that I could get at least one week or even 4 days off...and they gave me the whole 2 weeks! I'll be in AZ from February 19th to March 2nd. Yeah!
how in the world could I EVER forget YOU??? OF course I remember you! I am so SO happy to be touch. AND wanting to come visit soon. What do you say??!
Sis B

We sure do miss you guys! Alaska is cool (nyuk nyuk!) but we hate being so far away from everyone! Hope to see you soon though :)
Love ya!
Molly (and Ben)
YEAH!!! I miss my Sheesh! Your first blog was perfect. I will be addicted to checking it now just to have a little slice of Hutchin's. Now we have to get on Meghan to get her's up. OH and yes I am doing the makeup for Mark Mabry's project! Cool, huh? I just did "Mary Magdalene" the other day. It has been so much fun getting to know that group, Mark is really an amazing artist and a freakin nice guy. I hate that video though, I wish I wasn't sitting right in the shot, it is really embarrassing. Okay longest comment ever! Love you! Chels

Wait...Ben and Molly have a blog?! Why don't I know this?
Sharisa!! Thanks for stopping by my blog and having the guts to comment. When people do not leave comments it makes me sad and then it makes me want to start internet rumors about them. I am totally going to link you!
p.s. maybe I will do a post about the time we pranked the Barrets house and blew some minds.
Sharisa,
I am so glad you found my blog. I just came across your comment the other day. Oh my gosh it sounds like things are so crazy busy for you. I miss you tons!!! It sounds like you are so happy, and that make me happy. Take care!!
OH yeah, and I see your grandma everywhere!!!
While you are in Honolulu, if you see a wierd-looking overage hippie with a tattoo on her arm that says 'Wicked Wahini' wandering around the beach, her name is Lisa. Tell her she still owes me $5 from that summer in 1976.
Buddie is fine, but he is living with my parents. They love him so much they could never part from him. I never thought my parents would like a dog so much!
Is that your dad who posted the funny thing about the Hippi?
I'm pretty sure "the dad" is my dad. Funny guy!
This is the last time I will comment on this post, I promise! People will think I'm a stalker or something.
